The Unmoving Wise King

The Immovable Wisdom King, also known as the Immovable Venerable Bodhisattva or the Immovable Wisdom King, is called the "Immovable Venerable" in the Vajracchedika realm and is ranked first among the five Great Wisdom Kings in yoga Esoteric Buddhism. The term "Fudo Myoo" comes from the fifth volume of the "Commentary on the Great Nikkei" : This statue (Fudo Myoo) sits on a flat stone seat and is in the shape of a child. There are seven buns on the top, with braids hanging down the left shoulder. The left eye is narrow and closed, and the lower teeth gnawing at the upper lip. It shows an angry appearance, carrying a fierce fire on its back, holding a sharp sword in the right hand and a 罥 rope in the left hand, in a posture of cutting off afflictions. This Buddha, under the instruction of the Great Sun Tathagata, manifests in a wrathful form, leading numerous envoys to support the practitioner day and night, inspiring them to develop the Bodhi mind, abandon evil and cultivate good, and possessing the power to attain great wisdom and become a Buddha. According to the "Sutra of the Great and Wonderful Vajra Great Nectar Army 拏 Flame 鬉 Flourishing Buddha's Head", the Vajra King of Immovable Vajra is one of the five Great Kings and holds the same status as the other Kings. The fifth volume of the "Commentary on the Great Nikkei" records that his status transformed into that of a messenger of the Tathagata, with the mission of conveying the Tathagata's teachings and decrees, and he became the first of the five Great Ming Kings. The Immovable Wisdom King, "with the power to bind all ghosts and gods, to break all trees, to make all birds in the air fall at will, and to dry up dragons 湫, can subdue all evil people in the heretical path and in discussion," is one of the deities with significant connotations and meanings in the esoteric system.
