Yellow Jambhala is the most prominent of the Five Family Wealth Deities in Tibetan Buddhism and an important attendant of the Treasure King. He has a golden-yellow body, one face and two arms, with a fierce expression and hair standing on end, wearing a crown of the Five Buddhas, adorned with jewelry all over, appearing both wealthy and majestic. In his right hand, he holds a wish-fulfilling jewel, symbolizing the ability to satisfy all virtuous wishes of sentient beings; in his left hand, he holds a treasure-spitting mouse, from whose mouth endless treasures flow, representing the ability to bestow wealth. He sits in the posture of 如意 (wish-fulfilling) with knees bent on a lotus moon throne, with his right foot stepping on a conch, symbolizing the ability to go into the ocean to obtain treasures. Although Yellow Jambhala is a protector of the worldly realm, in Tibetan Buddhism he is regarded as an emanation of Ratnasambhava Buddha. Practicing his teachings requires a foundation of bodhicitta, a deep belief that wealth originates from the karmic results of generosity. Only through diligent offerings and cultivating widespread good connections can one truly obtain growth in wealth and merit.
