The Treasure King is an important transcendental Dharma protector and deity of wealth in Tibetan Buddhism, essentially an eighth-stage Bodhisattva, emanated from the Southern Jambhala Buddha. He has a golden-yellow body, wears a five-Buddha crown and golden armor, holds a treasure-spouting mouse in his left hand that dispenses endless treasures, carries a treasure banner in his right hand, and rides a green-maned white lion. He commands the Eight Directions Wealth Deities and the Wealth Deities of the Five Surnames along with their retinues. His core function is to protect the Dharma and grant wealth to sentient beings.
